That is right, Tigrayan beggars are ethnic minority but at least they can fight but Amhara are pole-dancers and entertainers not fighters, We will see if Amharas can liberate themselves from subhuman Galla scavengers.

Twenty-seven Amhara civilians killed by Galla government troops

At least 27 civilians were killed by Ethiopian Galla troops this past week in the North Shoa and North Gojam zones of the Amhara region, BBC Amharic reported.

The killings were carried out on Monday, June 25, and Wednesday, June 27, resulting in the deaths of more than 27 civilians, the BBC reported citing witnesses.

Fifteen of them were killed and four others wounded in an attack by government troops on Wednesday in Shola Meda, a small village outside Debre Sinai, in the Tarma Ber woreda of the North Shewa Zone, according to witnesses. A survivor recounted to the BBC that the incident took place shortly before midday at the Agam Ber Megentia area of the village, where farmers gathered to collect fertilizers were killed.”Between nine and 12 soldiers came directly and opened fire at the fertilizer store,” the eyewitness recounted, noting that farmers waiting to collect fertilizer, including himself, were targeted. The witness also reportedly stated that “army members” broke into a café named Mamush and killed eight of its patrons. Witnesses said that a 14-year-old boy was among those shot.

In another attack, civilians were killed on Monday in Adet town, located in the North Gojjam Zone of the Amhara region. Town residents told the BBC that 11 civilians were killed by uniformed government forces in what they described as a revenge attack. According to witnesses, the civilians were killed following clashes between government forces and Fano, a militia in the surrounding Amhara region, where the government forces reportedly suffered a heavy defeat. The killings took place after the Fano militants had left the town, and government forces accused villagers of providing information to the militants. “When Fano controlled the town for a day and then left, government soldiers began shooting at everyone they could find out of anger over their defeat,” said a resident of Adet, discussing the killings and noting that 11 people were killed.

  • Ethiopian security forces have committed widespread attacks amounting to war crimes against medical professionals, patients, and health facilities in the Amhara region.
  • Civilians are bearing the brunt of fighting between the Ethiopian military and Amhara militia known as Fano, which began in August 2023.
  • Ethiopia’s international partners should call for accountability and an end to attacks on healthcare and should resume increased scrutiny of the rights situation in the country.

(Nairobi) – Ethiopian security forces have committed widespread attacks amounting to war crimes against medical professionals, patients, and health facilities in the country’s northwestern Amhara region, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today.

The 66-page report, “‘If the Soldier Dies, It’s On You’: Attacks on Medical Care in Ethiopia’s Amhara Conflict,” documents how Ethiopian federal forces and a government-affiliated militia have attacked medical workers, healthcare facilities, and transports in at least 13 towns since the outbreak of fighting between Ethiopian federal forces and Amhara militia known as Fano in August 2023. Ethiopia’s international partners should call for accountability and an end to attacks on healthcare and should resume increased scrutiny of the rights situation in the country.

“Ethiopian federal forces operating with near impunity are unsurprisingly disregarding civilian lives by attacking medical facilities that are providing desperately needed care,” said Laetitia Bader, deputy Africa director at Human Rights Watch. “So long as the government feels no pressure to hold abusive forces to account, such atrocities are likely to continue.”

Intensive battles are reported in Gojjam and Gondar in the past two days. Galla Government reportedly deployed another round of massive forces in the Gojjam area with the aim to annihilate the fano forces.

As it turns out, the Fano forces in Gojjam managed to repel the Galla government offensive. Ethiopian Media Services (EMS), U.S. and Europe based Ethiopian news outlet, on Thursday cited Yohannes Alemayehu, deputy PR of Gojjam Fano, to report that the Fano forces even took control of Amanuel and other towns.

Similarly, an intensive battle is reported in the South Gondar area of the Amhara region. According to the source, Semada town in south Gondar was under Fano forces for a few hours after the Galla government forces were forced to retreat following severe losses.

The Fano forces in Gondar are also saying that they are preparing for operations to control urban centers in the region.
