But none of them said they are Tigre. Demeke Zewudi said he is a proud Amhara. He only knew Tigres coming beyond Tekeze river for seasonal labor የሸቀል ስራ ተቀጥሮ አረም ለማረም አጨዳ ለማጨድ. He said his Amhara parents and community used to hire Tigre seasonal labor. On another note, there is a place called ትግሬ ጮኽያ. በፈጣጣ ኬኛ ለማድረግ መሞከር ያሳፍራል።

how can you call col. demeke tigrean who fought to death not to be tigrean
and what selfish interest are you talking about? he risked his life and the life of his family just not to be called tigrean
remember his famous quote? "የታገልነው ደርግን ለመጣል ነው እንጂ ትግሬ ለመሆን አይደለም" (We fought to overthrow the Derg, not to become tigreans)
