This is almost a declaration of a forced separation of Tigray region from the rest of Ethiopia. How come the federal government forces out a province of its own like this. The people of Tigray are Ethiopians and the government has a responsibility to free them from any terrorists and foreign occupiers. PP is nothing but a thug that is destroying the country. If any region opposes the party then they will keep pushing it out from the union. Which region is next, Wolega, Benshangul, Gambela, or Sidama?

How can you free a people from an organization that the people itself supports? Does that even make sense? It's like trying to free the people from themselves. It is up to the people of Tigray whether they want to stick with TPLF or not. You need at least a substantial minority that supports you to able to administer a region. But when the overwhelmingly majority is supporting TPLF and even attacking federal forces, there is absolutely no reason to enter into Tigray.

Even looking at it from a legal perspective, if a state/kilil (not a rebel group) attacks federal army and rejects federal institutions like the election board, that state is rejecting the federation and is de facto out of the federation. You can't be part of the federation while rejecting federal institutions which are the core part of the federation.

What the government must do is allow full medical and food supplies to reach Tigray. That is a must in my view. Other than that it is up to the people to decide on their fate and whether they want to stick to the criminal TPLF or accept federal laws and be part of the federation. Trying to free the people from TPLF while they are fully supporting TPLF, is the most dumb and naive thing to do. It is waste of lives and resources in vain!

Had Ethipians went in in Tigray with pent-up anger, after all inhumane crime committed by weyannes, there would have been in discriminate killing that would have stained our collective conscience. Let the stain stay where it belongs to weyannes and their leaders who used their people as Cannon fodder on behalf of Ethiopia's eternal enemies. Let Tigrayans decide what they want to do. Follow weyannes lead go along wherever that leads to or raise up against weyannes where Ethiopians will be ready to stand along. Till that time comes defend adjacent states mercilessly but never venture into Tigray proper .

Damn if you don't, damn if you do. The govt has lack of confidence on Tigray issue means big win to Tplf, Egypt, U S state dpt. This means they can keep pushing. The govt seems to wait on the orders of Shabia. Shabia is stooge for Arab league so it does not care if Tigrayans or Amaras or Afar is attacked. The govt seems to have no responsibility as a country towards Tigray. They maybe blaming on Tigrayans, but other regions were and are (Oromia) under the yolk of Tplf.

Think about it, at the end of the day, it is about success on the ground and not about mind games, such as should the Et military enters Tigray they will be defeated or accused. The mind game, Tplf & Co is winning. The issue is how come 100 million not able to control ( not war but force Tigray to be peaceful) the 2 million? Either way, the Et govt will be accused the continue perishing of forced conscripted Tigrayans. It is funny, the Et military had the monster by its tail ( when they entered Mekele and there was order), they lost, gave excuse and left. Such act not just embolden Tplf but also Tigrayans thst were not sure about the Et military leaving Mekele. What happened? It was irresponsible that Tplf attacked Tigrayans who participated with the Et military. It was, still is possible to control Tigray with the mass entry of Ethiopians in order to protect Tigrayans as well as target individually Tplf fighters.

The cat and mouse game will continue, in the mean time, foreigners are working to activate Sudan and Olf.

For me it looks like a compromise. Tigray gets Raya Azebo (of course not Raya Qobo) and Amhara gets Wolkait. I think that is a compromise what Abiy is looking for and to some extent it seems TPLF also has silently accepted it for now and but I'm not sure if Rayas Azebos especially people in and around Alamata, who don't even speak Tigrigna, would like it. I think a bitter struggle is awaiting them just like what the wolkaits did. I'm also not sure if they have elites/leaders in the caliber of col. Demeke Zewdu that can rally the people around them under one command. Anyway, for now we seem to have a compromise and as any good compromise none of the competing sides are satisfied which is a mark of a good compromise.

TPLF knows let alone now, it couldn't capture wolkait during the last many months after endlessly trying. If you remember the last letter of Debretsion to the UN, he said that "TDF is withdrawing while western Tigray is occupied" or in another words TDF is withdrawing without demanding that Amhara forces and ENDF should leave western Tigray.

No, Woyane is not giving up on Wolkait and Humora. I am sure they will soon capture them and Abiy will say nothing, instead PP will start hunting down any Amhara resisting the surrender of Wolkait to Tigray. Once Wolkait and Humera are given to Tigray Amharas' conflict with Oromos will ignite and boom Ethiopia's status as failed state will be sealed. Oromia as a country will be born after that, the ultimate goal of Oromuma and Abiy.

TPLF getting wolkait is impossible. Even if the Amhara administration agrees, which it will never happen, PM Abiy will never allow TPLF to border to Sudan and get military supplies. That’s absolutely a no-go. Wolkait is not only a disputed territory between two regions but a crucial military strategic place. If wolkait goes to Tigray then Abiy is finished both politically and militarily! Believe me PM Abiy will make sure that TPLF never controls wolkait as he has done in the past months.

Well, what will Amhara do if woyane takes Wolkait? Nothing as Abiy and PP are hitting it from behind and facilitating for woyane. They have given Raya to TPLF and Amhara is not even mentioning it. Abiy gave fertile land to Sudan and what is Amhara saying? Nothing. In fact the hodam Amharas manufacture excuses to justify Abiy's action. Gedu publicly stated Wolkait belongs to Tigray. Find it on YouTube and hear him saying it for yourself. That is why they call us short memory.

I think you made a great point in here, regarding the net gains for the Amhara people. Everything reiterates the position of the ODP-PP/OLF government in support of TPLF's claim. The only reason Abiy has not withdrawn from Humera and Welqait now is because he fears TPLF will get access to Sudan and will depose him later. Why I say this? There are two Very Clear reasons, one of which you mentioned already. 1) Either Abiy or his government has not made any statement Humera, Welqait and Raya are Amhara people territories, all this long after almost Amhara people been the vital the defense force of the country 2) Abiy Ahmed immediately gave an order to stop the fight right at Kobo, not even creating a buffer zone around Maichew. As soon as the Amhara Fano force got an upper hand and advancing into the old Tigray province, the ኦነግ man in the video (Legesse) came out and announced the army liberated all Amhara lands, ignoring Raya Korem Alamata to suffer under the occupier TPLF. The problem, however, is the ODP-PP/OLF government can not continue doing monkey business, because it is war. Thousands of Amhara lives have been lost and will continue until all Amhara people and lands in Raya Korem, Alamata and other places are back to their rightful historical owners, Amhara people. Trying to change the course of history in the wrong way has done a lot of damage and doing the same will do the same. The OLF people have to learn from the failure of TPLF. Stealing is not a solution, it is a problem.

Do not assume too much. The gov't and its puppies hitting the Amhara is nothing new...and that is my argument why the system would fold. However, even if they abandon Raya for its own fate, the people will liberate themselves for they have nothing to do with Tigray. You have to be mindful that the questions about those places are as old as the so called etheric federalism itself. If you dig deeper, the cause of all our current misery stems from the way how the contentions about those places are tried to be resolved or the lack there of. So, unless the deed of ownership is in the the hands of the rightful owners, there will be no meaningful stability or holistic peace in the country. That doesn't however means the gambling and the pretentions won't continue for sometime.
