The Ethiopian diaspora home coming versus Eritrean diaspora home coming

To display his gratitude to Eritrea, Ethiopian politician Neamin Zeleke advised at least 10 000 Ethiopian diaspora to visit the homeland of the nobility of northern men, first to solidify people to people relationship and of course inject hard currency to the Eritrean economy. It is a good gesture of Neamin Zeleke to come with this offer, in particular the people to people initiative. But when it comes with the second?
Btw. Dictator/General Francisco Franco of Spain used the same method to create and establish the tourist sector in Spain after he was shunned away by America and the west after the Second World War. He encouraged Spaniards diaspora to invest in their country and ultimately they laid the platform which established the tourist sector and today the tourist sector contribute to 11% of Spain GDP.

The low IQ Weizero shitmeslo linked the twitter post of Neamin Zeleke but totally forgot or ignored what the man was trying to come with this great gesture. Call it blessing is in disgust or what ever, Eritreans are scattered all over the world and if they have the opportunity, they wouldn't hesitate to visit Eritrea , spend their hard earned money while visiting their loves ones. In fact given the country has few population, halv a billion of dollars will be a great boast to the non existent Eritrean Economy and we wouldn't need foreign tourists for injecting hard currency to the Eritrean economy. But that is the difference to be ruled by a young rejuvenated leader who understand the challenges and opportunities of 21th century and an old and fatigue leader who still believe he lives in the 1960th on which equally distributed poverty is a motto on which Eritreans are forced to take pride in.

May be it’s time for government to introduce a minimum of a 1% diaspora tax like the Eritrean 2% tax. That would allow the government to get the much needed foreign currency and it also allows the diaspora to positively contribute to its country.
