Sounds like he was hand-picked by Blinken to bring Sudan into the fold.

Sounds like he was hand-picked by Blinken to bring Sudan into the fold.
- He was indeed hand-picked as the Sudanese would put it by the International Community and the World Bank aka The Americans and their friends in the West. That is why Al-Burhan had to beg him to stay in his position as the prime minister of the Sudan.
In the game of who hand-picked whom and who guides whom the leftists are considered as the Human Rights organizations kids.
The Islamists within the army and in the society do not like and trust the leftists because they believe that they promote and push the Western Human Rights agenda which gradually wants to change the Sudanese society by starting with equality for all people irrespective of race, religion and gender with special emphasis on women's rights.
For the Islamists women's rights is very dangerous because if you start with women you could end up undermining religion. One Islamist stated something like : they want to make our women just like those in the West where a woman comes to her home with a man and tells her husband that she was expressing her individual freedom and equality.
Equality of race is a problem because it brings with it the issue of Afriqaniyah ( Africanism ), the majority of the Sudanese population. The fear is if Afriqaniyah becomes strong it could kill Arabism thereby weakening Islam itself. So the Islamists( in the army ) thought to stop the West and its Human Rights organizations before it is too late by removing the left from the shared-power agreement.
Other than the left the Islamists do not like the Republican Brotherhood of Mahmoud Mohammed Taha ( hanged by Numeiri for apostasy ) . One of them was given responsibility to change the curriculum of Sudanese schools. The Islamists didn't like his approach to religious freedom and equality. They took his approach as another way of trying to change the society by focusing on the young and the vulnerable telling them that there are different religions in the world which lead to the same source, God.
The Islamists are intolerant when it comes to religious equality but that doesn't mean their suspicion with regard to the activities of Human Rights organizations and their promotion of strange seksual behaviour with the aim of undermining and changing local culture is baseless.

It's funny that the Neo-colonial forces are now accusing the Sudanese government of "gang rape of 13 women and girls." We've seen that movie before.

During the 2011 presidential election held in Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire), the incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo won the election fair and square and got sworn in by the country's supreme court that verified the election results to serve his second term in office, but the country's former colonizer France did not like Gbagbo's Pan Africanism and wanted his opponent, a World Bank asset by the name of Alassane Ouattara, to become the president instead, so they sent the French air force and bombed the hell out of the country's presidential palace and kidnapped the seating President out of his bedroom and brought him in front of the racist International Criminal Court that was created to re-colonize Africa by incarcerating and assassinating African leaders.
The French then installed Alassane Ouattara as president and he has been in power since then. The French got their former colony back, thanks to the Banda Alassane Ouattara who possibly traces his bloodline to Chigray. Unfortunately for Gbango, he served 10 years in Hague's prison until he was released in April of 2021 for lack of evidence to the charges brought against him by the Neo-colonial France. But the damage to Ivory Coast was already done.
We wish the people of Ivory Coast the emergence of an Abiy Ahmed-like leader to bring them out of French colonization.

- A Sudanese activist from Paris is claiming that the seksual crime could have been perpetrated by the government on purpose to spread terror and make women stay at home during demonstrations. Even if they are not party to the crime they have the desire to make the ugly news as public as possible to limit the important role of women in such a great national event, he added. In general men get encouraged to come out and make their voice heard in large numbers when they see women joining their ranks.
