After the UN secretary general came under heavy criticism for supplying over 1000 UN vehicles to the TPLF terrorist group for military purposes, as well as shipments of weapons disguised as "humanitarian aid", he ordered Debretsion to write him a letter absolving him of all the allegations, especially in light of the fact that some UN officials have come forward with evidence to support the allegations, and this is what Debretsion wrote:

What these Ego Maniacs, Selfish and Deranged TPLF Leadership brought to the Region and especially to the Tigrayan People is Inhumane.
These maniacs are accountable for the bloodshed, the destruction of livelihood and the destruction of properties they have caused to the People in the Region.
It will take years for the People of Tigray to look up "shoulder to shoulder" with the other people in the Region. What a curse that is.
These Ego Maniacs should be made to ask for forgiveness for the blood shed and destruction they have caused in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan for the last 23+ years.
