Like any other 3rd world country US is in fear of a Societal Military Coup as a further development of the political division and chaos within American democracy. According to the late Samuel Huntington there are four types of military coups or military intervention in politics - societal, organizational, corporatist and personalist.

Societal military coup is when the military becomes divided along the political division of the society; in this case the division along nationalist and anti-nationalist, republican and democratic division of society, Army units and other structures become divided along these social political contradictions which leads to a military coup by a section of the senior or junior officers.
