Ethiopians make up your mind.

Perplexing and Baffling of Ethiopian’s stand.
We never lost the opportunity to tell to every human being in this world that Ethiopia never colonized, yet, at the same point we say Eritrea was part of Ethiopia. The problem that gets me in trouble is when I argue that if Eritrea was part of Ethiopia i.e. Ethiopia was colonized, how can we claim both? Eritrea was colonized 60 years by the Italians.

what do you want? eritrea is none of ethiopia's business and eritrea is not part of ethiopia.
what happened in history is irrelevant. leave that for historians.
whether eritrea was part of ethiopia or not. who cares? that is the past.
both are now two countries. and the chapter is closed.
focus on your country and we focus on ours. period.
it is stupidity to fight over irrelevant past.
don't be insecure. enjoy your independence.
ethiopians are trying hard to push one more region out of the union and not interested to add more

I brought up this i had this great argument with an older gentleman and he won't answer my question but he is absolutely believes that Eritrea was part of Ethiopia. However; you are right it is a dead issue but it bothers me when people go out of logic and reason.

some old generation are brain dead but they are also few and irrelevant in ethiopia
don't waste your time on them. go to ethiopia and ask the new generation.
99% want one region out of the union not add yet another one
that is what matters.
the question of eritrean independence is no more a political issue in ethiopia, it is no more part of political party debates during elections and no one cares about the past tbh

I don't think Ukraine colonized Russia before 2014 and now Russia is colonizing Ukraine since it annexed the area previously was under Ukraine and known as Crimea, a Peninsula on the Black Sea. I am not sure about whom the area actually belongs to.
If that is the case, then just because part of Ethiopia (objective or subjective) was under an external occupation doesn't spell out automatically to the colonization of the whole.
Is there any flaw in this logic?
