What about Professional Associations now?

This could be a key element in an effort in reconstructing the country and free it from any external dependency. Ethiopians have been enriching many fields of knowledge aroud the world. Ethiopia is one of the countries hit hard by the phenomenon called brain-drain. We don't have many doctors in the country, but we have highly qualified doctors helping others, which is okay in my view but also we need to give back. You are taking from those who have less and giving it to those who have more, which is unjust in its scheme.
Many Ethiopians are hard working citizens, but their contribution towards making change in their own home country has not been so much significant so far. This needs to be changed. There needs to be an overhaul of policies and regulations in promoting such an initiative, in my view.
There could be many such associations around the world at the national level, where professional topics are pursued and made a potential towards making Ethiopia independent from any external powers.
Many military officers volunteered recently to go home and defend the country in their professional capacity, at the time of its need. Others might have also done the same but not in so big proportion, I could be wrong. But the country need right now each and every one of us at this time of its need.
The least you can contribute towards supporting your people and home country is in giving back to the people who gave what they had to get you where you are today.
Now you know that you can't rely on any external entity to support those in need of support in our own country, they are coming to get something from the poor.
Now it is time to wake up and ask yourself what you have been doing all along. It is time to give back. A professional association should be a good tool, if not the only tool, in my view.
There are millions of children out of school, elderly left without any support in the family, disabled service men, who gave their precious lives to the cause of their country and we shouldn't leave them on their own.
This message should be forwarded to those in a position to make policy at the national level. You can add your own view.
