The Italian language poster on the wall in Adwa reads:
«Genti del Tigrai, udite. Voi sapete che dove sventola la Bandiera Italiana vi é libertà. Perciò nel vostro Paese la schiavitù, sotto qualunque forma, é soppressa. Gli schiavi che attualmente sono nel Tigrai sono liberati, e la compera e la vendita degli schiavi sono vietate. Chi contravverrà alle disposizioni del presente bando sarà severamente punito come trasgressore agli ordini del Governo».

Translation:

"People of Tigray, listen. You know that where the Italian flag flies there is freedom. Therefore in your country slavery, in whatever form, is abolished. The slaves who are currently in Tigray are freed, and the buying and selling of slaves is prohibited. Anyone who contravenes the provisions of this announcement will be severely punished as a transgressor to the orders of the Italian Government."

The Italians returned to Tigray.

The Tigray priest in the video below giving a speech praising the Italian aid workers in Tigray said,

• "Dear Italians, your hearts are as white as the color of your skin. Your white skin color is as pure as the snow. Thank you for digging the water well for us.

It sounds like something the beggar agame Aba Awash would say on this forum.

Man oh man, how time flies. The last woman on the video was actually Asswash's mother. She has gotten much older than the one Asswash proudly showed us some years ago. Oh, wow!
