1. Following our persistent multi-faceted protest and the spectacular victory in the Virginia election, we are beginning to see some shift in the hostile US policy toward Ethiopia - a recent example being Rep. Karen Bass' statement with respect to US plan of regime change in Ethiopia.
2. US & its western allies realize that the planned winter storming of the Menelik palace has failed. US/Egypt backed TPLF planned to seize Addis Abeba before the end of the rainy season and Meskerem had come and gone. TPLF is still a looting bandit in Wello and Afar. In one words, the Western plan had failed.
3. Naturally, therefore, we are beginning to see minor shifts here and there in the tones of US officials. So, how should we understand and respond to this emerging and inevitable shifts in perspective and policy on the part of US officials? what do we want from US congress people and US senators? What do we want from the White house and American foreign policy establishment? The Ethiopian Diaspora needs to have well thought out, clearly articulated sets of demands and policy guidelines to guide our movement going forward.
4. I will leave the details to those whose job is the foreign policy of Ethiopia but for those us in the US, at least we must do the following:
a. we must continue to register to vote
b. we must register as independents
c. those of us who are register as Democrat should change our affiliation to Independent
d. come election time, we should vote for those candidates who support our cause and a pro-Ethiopia policy.
5. We must make it clear to Karen Bass, any law maker and Biden officials that America needs to change its policy on Ethiopia. We are demanding a new American policy that is not hostile to the Ethiopian nation, government and people. We are demanding that US cease and desist from supporting anti-Ethiopia forces such as Egypt, Sudan, TPLF and other terrorist groups. We are demanding that US to cease and desist from organizing clandestine subversive activities, information warfare and other hybrid warfare on Ethiopia.
6. We demand that US remove its unjust sanctions and isolation and harassment of Ethiopia.
7. Finally, we must make it very, very clear that unless and until US congress changes its hostile policies we will organize and campaign to vote against any democratic candidate in the next 2022 mid-term election. The Biden foreign policy anti-Ethiopia groupies are the same Obama era personal friends of the TPLF terrorists. These ant- Ethiopia, anti- Africa groupie need to be removed from controlling American foreign policy for Africa/Ethiopia.
8. Our permanent interest is Ethiopia. Our voting behavior is independent of Democrats or Republicans. The party that supports Ethiopia will get our vote. Ditto.
