Many well meaning folks are taking Dr. Eleni to task because her tweet reads she is neither Tigrian nor Oromo origin. Many took it to mean that she or her family doesn’t deserve to be investigated because she belongs to non Tigrian non Oromo background.

I think what she tried to show was that tips are not scrutinized and it would have been easy for the authorities to clear a famous personality like her. She knows they only target certain Ethiopians. She doesn’t agree and she says it’s NOT RIGHT.

In a way, she is saying the level of madness is wild. She is saying, even if it’s Ethiopians with certain national origin that are targets of Prosperity Party leadership, no one is safe because of malicious tips provided for ulterior motives and investigators being incompetent, prejudiced and corrupt.

She's clearly not very bright is she. How can she be subjected to Ethnic profiling and harrasement if she's neither Tigrayan or Oromo
She unwilingly just exposed another weyane lie that it is only Tigrayans that are being targeted.

Ethnic profiling is profiling because of what you are. If you're profiled for what they think you are it's not ethnic it's for being a collaborator of the enemy.

People should understand that TPLF supporters are deliberately misleading the feds by tipping Tigreans to justify their allegation of ethnic profiling. Wake up folks!

The government made it clear, anyone regardless of his/her ethnicity that does have connection with terrorist Tigre-TPLF is rounded up and are being questioned. All suspects should be taken into custody. What is this woman's problem? She probably failed to prove her cleanliness to the police and probably soaked with dirty things from TPLF. Usually failed people(guilt) or political catfish go online to bad mouth, because they could not pass the test in reality. This woman is a catfish. She probably was a political mistress of TPLF. Public safety is a top priority.

We were told that the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) introduced in 2008 by the World Bank's asset, a Swiss national named Dr. Eleni Gabre-Madhin, was to prevent famine during times of drought in Ethiopia. Reading straight out of a script provided to her by the World Bank, she tried to justify the establishment of the ECX by claiming that, Ethiopia's epic famine of 1984 could have been prevented had the Derg regime moved grain surplus from other parts of the country that saw bumper harvests to feed people in the affected regions.

The ECX that was advertised as buying staple crops from major surplus grain-producing regions to feed people in famine stricken regions of Ethiopia, showed its true colors when it devoted the full capacity of its work trading the cash crop, Coffee, for foreign markets, and was no longer an agency that trades food commodities essential to feed the population to prevent famine. In other words, the EXC was formed so the TPLF may repay their debt obligations to the World Bank.

In fact, one year after the Commodity Exchange opened its doors in 2008, the following year famine struck again in Ethiopia, this time affecting 14 million Oromo farmers who had never experienced famine before, while the Tigray region that is prone to drought and famine, and whose barren land produces nothing, was left unscathed.

The reason behind this was that, the ECX lured Oromo farmers into growing coffee beans for exports by abandoning their staple crops such as maize, teff, sorghum, barley, beans, peas, potatoes and bananas that sustained their livelihood for generations. And for every one pound of coffee beans the Oromo farmers produced which the ECX exported, Tigray received one pound of American food-aid.

ECX proved to be a man-made famine making machine designed to keep Tigray well-fed at the expense of poor Oromo farmers forced to pay off World Bank loans borrowed by the Tigray thieves to enrich themselves.




Compare that to the school children in Tigray whose barren land produces NOTHING! NADA! ZILCH! ZERO!

if someone complains about being searched or interrogated after what we have witnessed in Dessie (and Kombolcha) recently, then the person has already exposed him/herself. Here the perosn puts personal comfort over the public safety, and we are in a war that is threatening the very existence of our country as a nation.

I heard somewhere at one point she was the highest paid government employee in the country, and paying back that at the time of need is not demanding too much, if I may guess.

At the same time BBC reported today based its own investigation in the capital from about over 500,000 ethnic Tigreans living in the city, just around 1000 were arrested (about 0.2%). Compare this figure to what has actually happened in Dessie.

Is mistreatment of a single individual without a reason acceptable? NO, it is not, but unfortunately we have to pay our own share for failing to speak up before all these happened.

I could travel to back home and picked up from the streets, but there was then something I should acknowledge, there are people who are paying in the precious lives as we speak to sustain the country and we all should also be prepared to accept the uncomfortable situation to our personal lives.

I didn't want to have vaccine against COVID-19, but I had to take all things into consideration and accept the cost of being vaccinated, without my will.

Personal comfort takes the backseat when it comes to the general public safety, Mr. exact words.

And if you didn't call out "not in my name" in due time and distance yourself verifiably from the high crime, then you have also made yourself culpable by association.

I was commenting on the beautiful explanation by eden of how ethnic profiling is done. I am not sure I understand your rant here.
