Isaias and Abiy, after their humiliating defeat in Tigray, tried to put siege and destroy Tigray but that has backfired as illustrated below:
- Isaias is back to his prison cell and he will continue to face external pressure that could ignite internal riot that removes him from power
- Abiy's Ethiopia is under diplomatic and economic siege
- Diplomatic siege
- Practically most of embassies are vacating their staff with only skeleton staff remaining
- Embassies have advised their citizens to leave Ethiopia immediately and not to travel to Ethiopia
- The African Union and Other international organization may have to move their offices and staff to other countries
- Economic Siege
- Export business facing a risk of total blockage and revenue could go to zero soon( horticulture, Oil seeds, Coffee etc). Only export of Chat may
survive for some time. Loss of about USD 4 billion per year.
- Tourism industry reduced to zero
- Ethiopian Airlines ( the major foreign currency earner) facing risk of bankruptcy and demise for good. It may also soon banned from flying to USA
- Agoa suspension by USA will make hundreds of thousands employees out of job and hundreds and loss of hundreds of million dollars per year.
