Now I get it. It is the Sheik of the Emirates, Stupid.

I do really get it now. Let us look at the time line.
Abbiy out of the blue accepts the boundary ruling.
Abbiy comes to Asmara and play cute with his usual sweet talk in Tigrigna.
Isayas is sitting by himself with a smirk on his face.
The Sheik of Emirates visits Addis. Abbiy chauffers the man around town...It is a good thing that Abbiy didn't play suicide driver thing. We can safely assume that Abbiy does not belong to the shites sect.
The benevolent sheik showers Abbiy with 3 billion loan to be paid sometime in the future.
Abbiy spents part of the money on a modern naval battle ship to stationed in somewhere in Eritrea.
Abbiy starts bragging about the RedSea corridor. Isayas never responds to that.
Isayas talks about ንጡፍ ስራሕ ክንሰርሕ. I knew the weyanes aszzz was to be cooked at that time.
Abbiy and Isayas sign their pacts whatever that was, in Saudi Arabia.
You see, it was the Arab thing.
The emirates wanted Abbiy's and Isayas collaboration to destroy the shites in Yemen.
Isayas wanted the agames destroyed, and most of all Ethio's maritime business through Eritrea.
The little man in Djibouti didn't like what was happening, but he was afraid of the Arabs.
The Somali man wanted something for Somalia, hence cooperated.
Abbiy wanted to give Ethiopians a life through the Red Sea. Who knows in the long run, some kind of confederation could be worked out.
Isayas can not live with TPLF, hence it had to go.
Abbiy agreed.
The weyanes got nervous. They attacked their benevolent guards.
The war started.
The US makes an urgent phone call to the sheik. The Sheik refrains. ........
I believe events were transpired roughly the way, they are stated above.
Any corrections with the same mindset are welcome.

It's like that more or less. Still what truly changes things for Eritreans is pushing Isaias's group with as little bloodshed as possible. After that form a government that abides by rule of law.

Your analysis, to the most part makes sense, but the strategy has totally collapsed. Let alone destroy the shiites in yemen....abiysayyas is fighting for dear life. Arabs doom is their reductionism!

I concur with most of your analysis with reservation.

I am of the opinion that this ugly civil war which is being waged is a proxy war. It has all hallmarks that the great powers are involved in it. Uncle sam is standing with the weyanne (mind you the weyanne would never ever dare to move an inch without the blessing, consent or approval from uncle sam). On the other angle, the russians and the chinese are on the side of abie regime albeit secretely. Forget the arabs, they are just pawns and they don't count while they are uncle sam's water carriers.

Finally,

The so- called great powers are competing to have the hegemony on this strategically vital HOA areas.

In the biggest scheme of things, that's what is happening: The petty dictators of Africa and the Middle East are fighting proxy wars planned by the big powers. The US does not care if the empire Sigr-Mereb becomes another Syria if that achieves the purpose of reversing Chinese advantage. Sadly as usual, it's the poor peasant paying the ultimate price. God forbid that catastrophic scenario!

Guys, stop making a mountain out of a mole.

The last three years and its finale has been just a storming/purging pit stop of the developmental nationalistic agenda that we have already marvelously architected and implemented;only to be stifled by organizations at the end of their ''s'' curves including the TPLF and its increasingly neftengia agenda of showa tegaru.

How who what and its unwitting dupes is irrelevant to the holistic ying-yang that is taking place that will bring about an optimal industrial environment, after a few years of purge of the anomalies. It will be unfortunate for Shabia and allies.

Thank you

Very few people have the stomach for a repeat of the developmental state "Abyotawi Demokrasi" mumbo-jumbo of the late dictator መልሓስ ዜናዊ.

Either some enlightened group in the old empire comes up with a new unifiying formula or it goes the way of other empires before it.

Guys,

Super powers competition takes the upper echelon. Beneath that regional competition takes place. In the Middle East, Gamal or Jemal Abdelnasser flerted with the Russians. Then the smart Alek Anwar Sadat relented to the West for economic help. Later Khomeini came into the stage. and took opposite sides from Sadat, and become the sole adversary of Israel and the West. Then, the pro West Saudis led Arabs made it an issue of Sunni shites division a dangerous one for the sub geo-graphic area. Now, the Emirates emerged as the power to contend with. Because of the immense activity over the Red Sea, the little guys of the horn became tools to play with. Many times, the West interest comes in direct clash with the demagogues of the middle East. This event was one of them. Poor Yemen had paid more than it should.

Dont you think there is an utter social sickness when a people from a totally rejected and dejected eritrea are commenting in droves about an otherwise functional ethiopia three years ago?

Since your motive is mutual destruction, you dont even read what I wrote but rather escaped to your own filthy imagination, and dismissed my argument based on tidbits of sound bite.

Where did I present developmental nationalism as an option of mood? what makes you think that meles was its architect? why cant you distinguish a policies quality differently from management and application errors? all that is overtly and covertly implied in my first message, nonetheless, your envious destructive darkness refuses to see it!

Live and learn; after a few weeks/months of stalemate and frustration, tigray and oromia will admit to their own cultural blindspots that had been an impediment to an otherwise beautifully working ideology and system. Oromo will admit to the utter childish nature of their politics, Tigray will realize their self absorption and eugenist divergent showa tegaru, of not nature and suffering will do it for them; they will comeback roaring!

ለሞታችን የቋመጡ ሞተው ያዩናል!!

Both China's US's heads-of-state visited Ethiopia during HMDs administration; more amazing was that, it didnt happen in the spirit of super-power competition, rather in acquiescence to a new symbiotic model of Chino-American-African political economy that we have designed for them!

Alas, ቅንዝረኛ ትግራዎይ and utterly childish oromo politics back and forth invited the parasitic amhara/shabia elements and the destruction that ensued! These cultural blind spots are still hindering them from moving forward in an internationally acceptable way, and into addis ababa!

So brother, it wasnt all super power when engineers hmd and debre were designing an iteratively self optimizing system!

Abiy had been an informant and a double agent way before he was selected to be the PM. Andy Tsege told us that. Yamamoto brokered the peace accord and transition with his shuttle diplomacy, including Abiy's selection as PM. Abiy was already in Issu's pocket way before Hailemariam resigned and Lema Megerssa cajoled to give up his Prime Ministership.

Genius or not, that is what happened. The man is evil, wicked and vicious. How else do you think he survived 60 years in power. Abiy is a stupid puppet who was fooled by his lust for power his mother told him and his Pente pastors prophesied for him. He sold Ethiopia and his soul to the devil. I don't think he can go into exile without permission from Isias.

The Oromos don't trust your TPLF but will happily use it to weaken the pro-Abiy Unitarian camp.

You are living in a bubble world thinking Oromos will work with TPLF post Abiy's downfall.

I agree...there are a ton of TPLF activists who are in a bubble of sacrifice-accounting as a means of power-portioning as it happened in 1991. that mindset is already facing backlash internally and from the international community at large. Add to that, the unruly and unilateral proclamation of independent/confederate state, the world is growing weary and punchy by the day.

As General Tsadkan concluded on his recent interview; he said Tigray's political challenges are yet to come and earnestly invited the entire Tigray intelligentsia to contribute in the discussion of what is to come. Alas, most of them are bogged down in the day-to-day to bother clarifying the political purpose of their struggle.

All in all, Tigray better clean its politics or will find itself in for a rough ride!
