Instead of focusing on their tiny country's hand to mouth economy, this what they were doing before Abiy Ahmed turned against them, Pitting Ethiopia against Djibouti and other African countries, As the saying goes, he who digs a pit for others falls into it himself.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Eritrea expanded 2.30 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 over the same quarter of the previous year. GDP Annual Growth Rate in Eritrea is expected to reach 2.60 percent by the end of 2023, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations.

Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Eritrea was £94 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023, an increase of 184.8% or £61 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022. Of this £94 million:
• Total UK exports to Eritrea amounted to £6 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 200.0% or £4 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022);
• Total UK imports from Eritrea amounted to £88 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 183.9% or £57 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022).
