Are China and Russia truly on Ethiopia's side?

Compared to the USA/West supporting the TDF I don't see either China or Russia giving as much support to the federal government. Maybe Russia in particular don't want to be against Tigrayans who are largely of the same faith as most Russians (Orthodox Christians)

They blocked 2 punitive UN Resolutions from passing & what the US is now doing is unilateral aggression, with EU support.
They congratulated Abyi for his electoral victory when the West just shoved that momentous event under the rag, as if they don't fake preach on democracy allover the globe ad- nauseum & ad- infinitum.
So yeah, I'd say they're.
