The Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority has received the instruction to prepare closing its airspace to Ethiopia whenever the situation arises to do so, depending on the current events in Ethiopia. The instruction was given by General Teklay Habteselassie to the authority this morning.
In the mean time, all Eritrean airports in Asmara, Massawa and Assab will remain open 24 hours to support all services required by the current PM Abiy government, be it a civilian or military air service requirements.
The source added, this is precautionary. Eritrean authorities are preparing their airports to welcome any Ethiopian be it civilian or military air-force requests and services, just in case, the Abiy government in Addis Ababa collapses.
