Poll: A simple question about Galileo Galilei and The Vatican

I have been wondering about this very simple question after watching recent news. I don’t remember coming across the same question before.

Is it Galileo Galilei as a scientist or The Vatican as a religious institution that has done more for humanity?

Hard to imagine that it hasn’t been asked and analyzed already by capable scholars. In that sense, this simple question may be redundant.

Please vote and in doing so, please don’t be biased by The Vatican’s apology to Galileo Galilei a few years ago.

Out of the four people who took time to vote so far, 3 responded that it is hard to tell.

If the same question were posted in a similar forum in Switzerland, would the proportion be the same? I do not think so. If is not the same, what would explain the difference? I think IQ would explain it. Does that mean people in Switzerland are more intelligent than people from Ethiopia? No. Does it mean people in Switzerland may have higher intelligence quotient about the history of Galileo and The Vatican than people from Ethiopia. I think so. That only explains the difference between intelligence quotient and being intelligent. This is a very simple example that explains the difference, at least the way I think about it.

Contribution to Humanity

Vatican definitely wins because the Vatican has millions if not billions of followers from South America, North America, Europe, Philippines, and Africa. The Vatican influenced humanity more then Galileo. Mother Teresa and those Vatican Orphanages and Aid? I think they influence peoples beliefs in God as well that is defined as “influence”

Galileo has contributed to Human Science more then Vatican but he does not influence humanity like a religion nobody goes to Galileo Cathedral’s every Sunday.

To be frank you should have compared the inventors of Medicine and the Vaccine to the Vatican in which case that would be a great question to ask because I would awnser the founders of Modern Medicine have more influence to humanity then the Vatican Institution

Why are you so confused about this? Did you learn anything in university or are you trying to sound smart and intelligent on this forum?

that is your answer
