No Long Term Relationship, Only Long Term Interests

America-Ethiopian relationship makes the point one more time clear, if there existed any doubt so far.
America wants a subservient and with that a weak Ethiopia that will wait for its handouts and ready itself to take the demands, if not orders, coming from the donor, or boss.
Ethiopia in turn needs to adhere to this setup and ready itself to always comply with the demands or orders from the big brother.
These are the basic tenets that would govern the relationship between the two.
If these tenets are not preserved then the relationship is going to get deteriorated and finally coming into halt or even turn hostile, as it is right now.
We have one option, abort our aspiration of getting self-reliant and go back to the old way of leading our lives, or get constantly hampered by the heavy weight of the big boss, and try to push our agenda forward, which would be not without a cost.
TPLF is not winning, like few in here are trying to portray it. TPLF is no where to win against the giant Ethiopia, we are made to fight each other and keep ourselves through that weak, and finally restore the basic tenets of Ethio-American relationship. That will bring back the destorted
relationship back to life.
This will not change, even if this or that party may come to power on either side of the divide.
Abiy Ahmed can be more friendly to America than TPLF was by just going back to the tenets of the relationship between the two, that was preformulated. That is also what Jeffery Feltmann alluded to just today in his speech I heard partly on the internet.
It is not Abiy Ahmed that the American government doesn't want to see, it is how he is treating the relationship between the two.
Getachew Reda can come to power and if he ever aspire to challenge the way the relationship is built and sustained, then he will be on fire the next day, the same way Abiy Ahmed is treated right now.
Joe Biden can go and someone else may come to the power house (white house), he has to just make sure that the tenets of the relationship is not challenged.
We have already seen that with both recent Presidents from both parties of the US.
The message is clear: keep yourself weak!
