Eritrea: retreating from western Ethiopia

Eritrean army officers are still in shock of the events and setbacks taking place in Wello. With their own ragtag forced and conscripted army in Eritrea, the officers know, there is little they can do.
Under this new situation, the Eritrean army is retreating from western Ethiopia, that is Gonder to Humera, and moving to Barentu and the old Badme front.
Under this haphazard and disorganized retreat, many Eritreans, majority the Muslims of the lowland Eritrea, are abandoning the Eritrean army and fleeing to Sudan along the rest stops of the towns of Omahajer, Teseney, Haykota and Adi Keshi. Most of these young conscripts say, it is pointless and futile dying for a dying regime - ሞት ከልቢ እዩ። (የውሻ ሞት ነው።)
