የትግሬ ባንዳ ለ4 ወራት አሁንም ወሎ ውስጥ እየተንደፋደፈ ነው ! ይህ የወሎ ጦርነት በረዘመ ቁጥር አማራ መደራጃ ግዜ እያገኘ ነው !
I differ. Here is why. The longer this war drags on the more the internal bickering of the Amhara people comes to the surface and weaknesses start to surface and cause more damage to the wellbeing of the community as a whole.
First, we have to ask ourselves about why woyane succeeded on the Wollo front, while miserably failed on the Gonder front, its erstwhile massive investment? It seems to me it successfully exploited the inernal seams of the society in Wollo, a multi-cultural and multi-religious "little Ethiopia".
If the entity is given more time, then there is no reason to assume that it will not going to use more and more such strategy of dividing and conquering the region, one more time.
Amhara should have organised itself well already and by now should have been in a position to defend itself and give a blow to those who are challenging its existence as community. Their activists don't seem to even know what they want, some of them sing about their historical glory, some of them sing about Ethiopian greatness (and with that Amhara's greatness), still there are others who are captivated by pure hate and disdain for other communities in the country and nothing else. Some also like to sing about their regional superiority and some other sectarian issues.
These fissures may look like simple matter for now, but when it comes to creating a unified and strong front to safeguard the wellbeing of the society it could drail everything and put them at a much defense position in the future. It is high time for Amhara activists to sit down and sort out their issues and focus their efforts to where it matters the most, for their success in defending themselves. Dessie should be a good precedence to draw their lessons and make a resolution to not repeat the mistakes there.
There is a reason, why Getachew Reda was singling out the ABN actiivsts as a major obstacle for their planned assualt on Dessie just before few days. Why did he move from Amhara as general, and then to Amhara elitists and now to just a relatively minor section of the society and targeting ABN?
Woyane will only succeed, if it effectively succeeds in dividing the Ethiopian people and it is very perfect in that skill, it used it for the last over 30 years and we have many water carriers towards fulfilling such ambition and goal of the entity.
We should tell the truth and seek a means, no more vague hopes or empty promises. We are already paying heavy price for our own failers to do so, so far.
