He referred to the Newyork church as to had been called Abyssinian church and went further to elaborate...

Ethiopia is about hundred fifty years old. Axumite never considered themselves Ethiopian. Go prior to hundred fifty years and look at anything and tell me that doesn’t say Abyssinia. Today if you run up to somebody and call’em Ethiopian, they might not know Axum kingdom or Abysinnia and do not know even their own particular history because oppression leads to erasure of your own history. Victors write the history, so all you say here is Ethiopia this and that you know nothing but what the winners and the ruling class told you.

This is very true. There was no Ethiopia before Menilik the ll.

The first Abysinnian strong man who lifted his foot off the soil of Gojam, Gondar, Wollo, Tigray and Shoa was Minilik the ll of the Ankober, North Shoa.

At least from what I know, Harerghe ( that includes Bale, part of Arsi and Afar and Today’s Somali region) had never been part of Ethiopia until Menilik invaded the region in the help of European musketeers in January the 7th of 1887, and the region of Ogaden in July the 24th of 1948.

A very similar story of forceful annexation in the South and western part of today’s Ethiopia had been taken place at about the same time.

Prior to Menilik the ll’s conquest of the south, the nations in the south and east had never been under the same central government as a nation together with the northern Abysinnians.

Menilik with the help of the White man's arms supply was able to control these regions and invented the country known as Ethiopia today. Menilik was the victor and assembled Ethiopia into a single nation in his own Amhara image. Amharic the language of the victor became the language of the land, Amhara custom and Amhara glorified history also became Ethiopian national custom and the history of the nation and the land by knocking out the history and existence of the rest of eighty-plus nation and nationalities.

All non-Amhara Ethiopians know only the history of what the victor Amhara told and taught them. If Amharas believe that Ethiopia has three thousand years of history, well, non Abysinnians got nothing to do with that history. Their history with So-called Ethiopia is implicated only in the last hundred fifty years.

Till Ivan lll came to power Russia was under the rule of Mongols for 200 years, but Russian never lost their Russian nationalism or lost their cultural assets. I bring this because all the tribalist analysis ends up always a story of victimization. Minilik didn't establish Ethiopia by invasion from North to south, that is as simplistic it could get. There were some who fought but most accepted his rule and he kept them to rule their own region without his interference. Amharic became the lingua franca of Ethiopia because the church played an important role in spreading it.. not uniquely Ethiopian. Go and check the history of Europe and from where its literature cultures had sprung from. Yes, those Ethiopians who had not developed a written language learned Amharic .. if not Amharic, it could have been French, or English or Portuguese or Spanish etc. Proximity to written language determines what you will pick up. Amharic was the closest in the context of Ethiopia. Look at Orrofuma it is a newborn written langue -- 30 years old (I'm not talking about the Orally transmitted cultural assets here) So Oromo language in its written format has not yet evolved as much. It will get there but still, it is in its infancy. So instead of talking ad nauseam about powerful groups determined the situation we are in -- lookup close to the intricacies that created the situation we found ourselves in. whenever there is a conflict or a collision of ideas both the winners and the loser would be affected and changed by it. To assume history is a one-way street for winners to shape the world as they see fit is a misguided view.

As a matter of fact, a Hundred fifty years ago Europe and America were in the same situation in terms of political uncertainty as to your country Ethiopia was.

Nation-states we see across the globe today, most unified in the barrel of the gun and brute force. Even there is nothing wrong if Menilik had used force to unify the country as it was the norm of the time, but those countries you mentioned upheld and delivered good governance, democracy, human rights protection, and rule of law to their respective citizens, but you, after a century and a half on power, you are running on a killing spree and rape from region to region in the name of unity and Ethiopiawinett.

A century and a half later You are not even able to feed yourself twice a day waiting for the handout from the same nations with whom once you were on the same level. Can you tell me why? Russia Europe ooph just give me a break!

I suggest you flip a page or two about those countries' history before start piling up praise, I wasn't comparing Ethiopia with other countries either, what I am saying is you need to zoom out a little bit to have a better understanding of our problem.

As to the date, Abyssinia became member of League of Nations on 28 Sep 1923. In the above link, you may note it was about the beginning popularity of Amhara. [የአማራ መንግስት ልመናና ዕውቅናን በማያያዝ]. But in the following link, down scroll the linked page and you will read date Abyssinia changed it previous name and became member of the League of Nations as Ethiopia. There was big dispute on that which I can give you another link on the web.

Did you know when Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was being persecuted in mecca before he fled to Medina sent his followers to Tigray? መንግስት አንድ ቋንቋ ያስፈልገዋል። አማርኛ የተመረጠበት ምክንያት ፊደል ስላልውና ለረጅም ጊዜ የንጉሶች ቋንቋ ነበርና ነው (የኦሮሞ ንጉሶችም!)። ሌላ ምናልባትም እንደ አንድ ዋና ምክንያት መጠቀስ ያለበት አረብኛ መሆን ስላልነበረበት ነው (አረቦች አይደለንማ! ክክክክክክክክክክክክክ)።

የአማራ የበላይነት እየተባለም የአማራ ብሄር የለም እና አማራ ክርስቲያን ነው የተባለበት ምክንያትም ከዝህ ጋር የተያያዘ ነው። ለአንድ መሰረታዊ ጉዳይ ብዙ መነሻ ምክንያቶች አሉ በሚለው ብንስማማ ይሻላል። ታሪካዊም ነው። ለምሳሌ ያህል ወይም ያክል ክክክክክ በሶማሊያ አረብኛ ነበር። በአንድ ዘመንም ቅርብ* የራሳቸውን ፊደል ቀርጸው ነበር (ኡስማኒያ) አሁን ላቲን (የክርስቲያኖችን ክክክክክክ) እየተጠቀሙ ነው።
