I don't know if any country in this world is more endowed with such a natural beauty and immense resources than Ethiopia, but we are sleeping amid all those resources instead of developing them and make them to a cash, which is a source of additional investment in return.

Look at this beautiful scenery and how we failed to even develop a modest paved road, how are we suppossed to be self-sufficient then?

And a place perhaps no where around the earth so much endowed with talented Athletes, Bokoji of Ethiopia. The place where the first Ethiopian emerged to represent his country in a field of taekwondo at Olympics level (another Abebe Bikela), the place where many of the top national athletes were raised from, including members of this young man.

If we can build it, then Ethiopia can be a prominent country around the world, I am convinced.

This place, as you can see, is naturally beautiful. It gets around 8 to 9 months a year rain, the greenery is not out of accident. This is endowment in the true sense of the word. You can make use of the nature's gift or leave it and wait for handouts from else where. The choice is ours and we have opted for the second one so far.

Laziness has nothing to do with how the country is underdeveloped today, considering all previous rulers have colluded with global powers pursuing their individual self-interest at the expense of Ethiopia's national interest. Due to 6 decades long of government corruption the country is up to its neck in external debt that is passed on from one generation to the next while it continues to grow, and interest rates rise. Debt is the new form of modern slavery that shackles heavily-indebted countries by abject poverty.

It's only now that Ethiopia has started breaking the shackles with PM Abiy coming to power, and the evidence of that is the relentless covert and overt destabilization plots orchestrated by Western governments to bring the TPLF terrorist group back to power, thus bringing slavery back to the country that was freed 3 years ago!
