Thats never gonna happen Eritreans fought hard for their independence. Why would they share something they own solely makes no sense at all

There is no owning part of another country even if the leadership decides. The Eritrean ports are parts of Eritrean sovereignty lands. That is where it stops. However, the two countries can have European type of relationship where Ethiopians can do business with Eritreans that benefits both countries. Whatever Isayas intends won't matter including leasing the ports for a long time under market prices. Unionist or not. Eritrea stays independent.

Personally i wouldn't mind to let Ethiopia utilize port service free of charge but in Exchange, Eritrea get unrestrained fresh water Flow from Lake tana. win-win solution.

Weren't we untied (granted it was against our wish) and fought a 30 years brutal war sacrificing over 70 thousand of our bests to make Eritrea an independent, sovereign nation? Wasn't Wedi Afom one of those tegadelties? Why did all the sacrifices if unity was the end game?
Then why even make a wishful lame excuse that unity is what he wants....as if he or any future leader can decide the fate of our sovereignty?
Please stop this crap and enjoy the peace and hope both work hand and gloves giving and taking of equal value to one another.
We are in peace doesn't mean Eritrea is open for free for all friendly nations. If Ethiopia doesn't want to use our ports, it got many other neighbors port to chose from.
Eritrea's population is small and Eritrea can survive and thrive by its own unlike Ethiopia which has an explosion of population.
So respecting Eritrea an work with it much more beneficial to Ethiopia than to Eritrea .
Only a filthy agame brings such stupid unattainable dream because Ethiopians will benefit what the filthy agames were working hard and evily with their masters to benefit from.

Eritrea needs to access the Ethiopian market and Ethiopia also needs the ports and markets of Eritrea. Strategic cooperation and integrated economy based on win-win arrangements and mutual respect is the way forward for each country in the Horn of Africa.
