Not a fan. No resources. If Ethiopia is to catch up it must embrace the tools of trade and trend setters.
English is now so prevalent that in some non-English speaking countries, like Germany, France, and Spain, English-language academic papers outnumber publications in the country’s own language several times over. In the Netherlands, one of the more extreme examples, this ratio is an astonishing 40 to 1.
Amharic remains a feudal language with almost zero publications with few fictional stories and the Church materials.
It's time to tell Amhara the truth. It's not working.
Just look at Abiy's own Tweets. The number of times English version is shared, interacted is 40 to 1.
Somali Region will definitely adopt English along with Somali and the rest of Kilil should do the same

This is right. Amharic is too primitive and is spoken by many Bantu Africans as Abiy Ahmed Ali. We need to use English as a working language. Amharic is simply not good enough to get people together. It is not a unifying element. Geez would have been better as a unifying element as it is impartial and does not have hate language.

Everyone knows Amharic is not working not only to unite people but as academia as well.
Imagine trying to study AI or machine learning and the other 3rd industrial revolution sectors.
There's none. Amharic doesn't even have books on basic things.
That's why Ethiopia can't compete with 58 million Kenya.
I am not anti-Amharic, I enjoy Amharic music and so forth, my concern is our academia and economic competitiveness as well cohesion.

Amharic is not a problem. It is the lingua franca of 110 million people. It helps people from different corners of the country to communicate. The problem is a political ideology that does not respect autonomy and self-rule and differences. Abyssinia / the Ethiopian Empire has always been a federalist arrangement.
The Neguse Negest system is a federalist system where the Neguses have autonomy on their territories and pay taxes to the Neguse Negest (federal government). The Neguse Negest looks after common defense and international relations. Actually, it looks like it was HSI who ended the federalist system when he fired the Neguses but still kept the Neguse Negest title. He introduced a centralized state system into a country that has always been a federalist structure. Mengistu continued the madness of unitary state which resulted in Eritrea's independence.
The Isaias, Abiy & Amhara Elite alliance have plunged the country into another bloody war after 30 year in order to re-install a centralized / unitary state system.
