The names of the languages of Abysinnia . 7 House Gurage / Sebat Bet Gurage… Sebat Bet Agew / 7 House Agew.. Bête Amhara / My House Amhara..
Sebat Beyt Guragigna
Sebat Beyt Agewigna
Guragegna sounds like Highlander Agewigna language mixed with loan words of Amharic. I wonder if all Gurages use Amharic words. i believe the Sodo speak closest to Amharic. I also wonder when our words entered Gurage Region in Southern Shewa. The Gurages are a isolated Habesha or Abysinnian tribe. Amharic words could have been introduced during Menelik-Selassie reign or Yekuno Amlak - Lebna Dengel (Amhara Kings of Shewa Reign). BAck then Amharas bordered the Werji/Waj (Central Shoa) across Waj was the Gurage. that region is todays South West Shewa Zone. THe dance of Gurages is very similar to Shewa Amhara and Feresegna culture similar to Sebat Beyt Agew of Western Gojam
