In a reminiscent to recent Secretary General of UN at the latest UNSC-Session on Ethiopia, before few days, address BBC came today to the public to announce about the "battered Ethiopian Economy by Tigray War". You remember the addresse of the Secretary General of UN, who used almost the same language. What BBC added to its "reporting" is a view of a single resident (unidentified) of Addis Ababa, who allegedly said that her cost of life has doubled due to COCVID-19 and the Tigray war.
When I opened the link I was expecting the BBC to tell its readers that millions are perishing from hunger in the country due to Tigray war, they failed to say that and added that Ethiopia will going to grow at 2% for the next year, down from 6% in last year. Ethiopia is fighting for its existence as a nation and that wouldn't come without a cost. How is BBC missing that?
It didn't start with SG of UN, before that the American Embassy in Addis Ababa has reporteldy gathered reporters and asked about why is the people not yet revolting due to the soaring living costs?
The connection is clear, let them know that Ethiopia is trying to ensure its place in the free world and that will not be without a cost.
The government of Ethiopia has the full backing of the general public on that, BBC, SG of UN and American Embassy will have disappointing few months and years to come on this.
Ethiopia's 10-month war has come at a huge human cost, with thousands killed, millions displaced and many in desperate need of assistance.
But that's not the only damage being done to Africa's second most populous nation - the war has incurred a huge economic cost, too, that could take years to repair.

He's attempting damage control after his administration's overt support for the TPLF terrorist group has angered the Ethiopian people, prompting them to seek new allies. It's too little too late.
