Afar are only 40-km from Mekelle

Amhara are fighting back but haven't yet perfected their operations.
As you can see Adigrat under Eritrean control. They can and should send huge forces to the Afar front around Abala.
They are still looking for Ras Darge, Gobana and Makonnen.
The opposition has had 30 years on them of training, working together, stockpiling billions of dollars and equipment.
Afar are natural fighters and like their Somali cousins don't need a divine leadership unlike Amhara.
Afar are gaining grounds and if heavy armed 10,000 ENDF are moved there, they will be in Mekelle within days. They are only 40km out at the moment.
Amhara cleaned up much of Gondar but Wollo remains an easy target. Wollo not recruiting either unlike Gojjam and Gondar.
What Wollo needs are Shewan Amhara especially Menz and Afar.
If that happens, TPLF will be hurled inside Tigray.
So far TPLF is feeling the huge pressure including dwindling resources, lack of recruits, dying experienced leaders, and overall bad situation inside Tigray itself.
A rift within TPLF is also likely especially over the miscalculated invasion of Afar and Amhara regions.
