Military officers always ask what the objective is before entering into conflict; if the objective is unclear or unknown, their campaigns are doomed to fail. So then ask yourself, what is Abiy Ahmed’s objective as he puts Ethiopians on a war footing. America just learned the lessons they forgot from Vietnam, an insurgency cannot be defeated by military means. If the world’s superpower could not subdue a rag-tag Taliban militia in Afghanistan, do you really think Abiy Ahmed will be able to defeat TPLF by launching hundreds of thousands of soldiers at them?

This is not to excuse the TPLF, I was protesting against the monstrous Meles Zenawi regime as a teenager back in the 1990s. However, Abiy Ahmed is intentionally playing right into their hands as he stokes ethnic nationalism and radicalizes Amharas to go against his supposed enemy. I watch in utter dismay as I witness Amharas—who once detested the ethnic politics of Meles—become just as ethnocentric as the TPLF as they puff out their chest in bravado ready to die on behalf of their tribe and forgetting the notion of Ethiopiawinet they once swore to put first.

But what if Abiy Amhed is playing Amharas for fools? What if his objective is to neutralize Amharas and Tigarus? What happens after Amharas and Tigarus fight to a bloody finish? In 2008, the agame leeches had a project to distroy the only surviving Ethiopian institution i.e ESFNA (the sport federation that brings Ethiopians together). When so many efforts to infiltrate it failed, they created a clone of it called ESA-One pouring so much $$$ into it. The agame DJ promoters went agressive marketing it and this guy TedrossIII fallout with them for unknown reason and opposed their move.

But, let us also give him credit to for destroying TPLF. I was not happy while the people of Wollo suffered due to ENDF's sabotage and I later realized even if Abiy Ahmed wanted to fight TPLF in Raya Alamata and Korem - his toughest problems were sold out ብአደን. The junta remnants of ብአደን were obstacles more than OLF-Orommuma becuase they have been TPLF's insiders and are selling military strategy information. Thank you for your rational response, there is hope for us yet. For the record, do you think I am giving cover to TPLF? Rest assured I am not, I will refer you to this article I wrote when the conflict first broke out, an article that let to me being interviewed by AP, I have been pushing against TPLF for decades, only the most blind or intentional liars at this space would say otherwise. I do not underestimate the evils of TPLF, I noted their evils in the article, that is not the point I am making, the point I am making is the Abiy Ahmed is TPLF himself!

I see Theodore's position. Fighting to bring back Western Tigray to Amhara fold is consistent with Ethnically divided nationhood. If your vision for Ethiopia with uniform democratic country albeit Ethnicity is, then the Western Tigray/ Northern Amhara land contest situation becomes secondary. This war should not be between Amhara and Tigray. It should be between the federal government and TPLF. The issue of Welqait and other contested areas should be solved in parliament.

The enmity of the Tigrayans is in the first place against the family of Atse Tewodros, you personally. They would kill you if they were to get you in your ancestral lands. Besides the Woyane constitution states that you should leave kilils to fight out their problem if there is any. So you can not blame PMAA for the crimes of the Junta which is claming lands that doesn't belong to it and killing Ethiopians. There is no place for neutrality here.
