Nearly 30 years of intentional division and valuing ethnicity above nationality and our common humanity is about to end in horrific ways as Ethiopians on both sides of the conflict back home are gearing up for war. Spurned on by outsiders who desire bloodbath for my birthland as they present propaganda as truth, Ethiopians have bitten from the apple of pride and indifference as millions jump on the bandwagon of militarism not realizing the fire that is coming for my birth land.
War is always romanticized by those who don’t fight it only to saddle those who fight with a lifetime of traumas. While many Ethiopians who live in the comforts of their apartments, condos and townhomes in America, the UK and beyond agitate for hostilities knowing that the closest they will ever get to war is battling traffic during rush hour, it will be innocent men, women and children who will be dying by the thousands if and when the spark that consumed Rwanda is lit in Ethiopia...continued...
