The Afars in Djibouti Vow to Topple the Regime

Post by Abdisa » 12 Aug 2021, 17:54

The countries that have military bases in Djibouti and support the TPLF terrorists may be asked to vacate Djibouti when a new government is formed in Djibouti by overthrowing the current slave regime.

Djibouti rights watchdog slams police for attacking civilians

The Djiboutian Human Rights League (LDDH) has denounced the police for waging "a coordinated attack" against civilians that left several people dead in early August, according to a report seen by AFP on Thursday.

The report alleged that both plainclothes policemen and uniformed officers took part in violent clashes that hit the capital's Afar-dominated neighbourhoods on August 1.

The Afar, who straddle Djibouti's borders with Ethiopia and Eritrea, and the Issa are Djibouti's two main ethnic groups.

"Plainclothes police aided by Issa civilians began to set houses on fire," the LDDH said in the report signed by its president Omar Ali Ewado and dated Tuesday.

It said it was a "coordinated attack on defenceless civilians and wreaked havoc on Afar districts".

"Men and women of the neighbourhood who wanted to put out the fire and stop the rioters were attacked by uniformed police, who fired live ammunition against these innocent people."

Public prosecutor Lamisse Mohamed Said last week said three people had died in August 1 violence in Djibouti City, leading to several arrests, but did not say how.

Witnesses had told AFP that about 10 people were killed in the clashes, which saw Issa and Afar houses burned.

'Incredible repression'

On Sunday, Djibouti's Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed had condemned the unrest as "barbaric acts perpetrated by despicable individuaafarls acting under the cover of a pseudo communitarianism".

But the LDDH rejected the government version of events.

"Contrary to the statements of the government authorities, relayed by some media, this incident... is not intercommunal because the police were omnipresent and were at the forefront of the fighting against peaceful Afar citizens," it said.

The rights group described an atmosphere of "incredible repression" in recent months in the country that has been ruled by President Ismail Omar Guelleh since 1999.

It said 15 people had died in early August, mostly Afar, and 250 homes had been torched, triggering demonstrations in several towns, including the capital and the city of Tadjourah to the northwest.

In late July, Ethiopia's Somali region saw clashes between the Afar and Issa communities near Djibouti's southern border.

Flanked by Somalia and opposite Yemen, Djibouti has remained stable in a volatile neighbourhood, drawing foreign military powers such as former colonial ruler France, the United States and China to establish bases there.

But the country has also seen an erosion of press freedom and a crackdown on dissent as it has courted foreign interest.

Djibouti's GDP per capita income is about $3,500, higher than much of sub-Saharan Africa, but around 20 percent of the population live in extreme poverty and 26 percent are unemployed, according to the World Bank.

Since it was granted its de facto independence from France in 1977, the neo-colony Djibouti has been dominated by the Somali Issa clan, who control the military, economy and political system of the country. The Afar citizens are treated like second-class citizens in their own country. The Issa clan are like the greedy agame who would sell their own mothers for $1. :x :x

Several killed in Djibouti as communal violence erupts - Ethiopia exports conflict to Djibouti -(Al-Jazeera)

Police say at least three killed in the country’s capital following violence between Afar and Isse ethnic groups.

At least three people died after a rare outbreak of intercommunal violence in Djibouti during which the police intervened, the public prosecutor said.

Fighting broke out on Sunday in several parts of the capital Djibouti, between the ethnic Afar group, which straddles Djibouti’s borders with Ethiopia and Eritrea, and the Issa, Djibouti’s other main ethnic group.

What a title, Lmao.

Afars are minority of minorities in Djibouti, they are basically like a drop of water in a Somali ocean, It is impossible for Afars to topple the government of Djibouti, I am sure they will have more luck in Eritrea.

Although Afar population counts 35% in Djibouti and are far from being a "minority of minorities in Djibouti", the fact is that no one including Somalis is able to succeed to topple Omar Guelleh, as he's backed by a fortress of foreign powers and that all of them are rejoicing at the current existing state of affairs and that none of them is willing a power reformulation.

I've lived among Afars in Djibouti, they are not 35 percent of the population of Djibouti, that percentage is absolutely not true, 97 percent of Djibouti's population lives in Djibouti city and Afars live one small district in Djibouti city, I think between five and ten percent of the population is Afar.

I'm not going to dispute your facts to merely give credit to creeps who want to see Ethiopian Pandora crap creeping into other countries.

Yep, Afars should better focus both on Eritrea and Ethiopia.

The Horn of Africa is our turf and we reserve the right to expel any external power whose presence in the region poses a threat to our collective security interest. Aiding and abetting the TPLF terrorist organization by any outside force is not acceptable by members of the East African coalition that have a stake in the stability and security of the region. Installing a new government in Djibouti that has Africa's best interest at heart is not an option, but a priority.

Won't happen.

Somalis are here.

We have five military bases that will bomb the Afar under the volcano lava.

Millions will starve in Ethiopia.

Afar is no challenge. Our little brother needs to settle down.

Somaliman

That is right, Afars should focus on their big lands in Eritrea and Ethiopia.

I am well aware that shabiya cadres and their boss Isaias Afwerki are not as intelligent as chimpanzee but the government of Djibouti is only responsible for the well being of its citizens which include right to life, liberty and to possess property, to fight poverty and improve the quality of life of its citizens, Africa is the last thing on their mind.

HEY!

The cheap h00ker has lived there, so shut up!

The Afar (35%) and Somali (60%) make up the two largest ethnic groups, both of which speak Afro-Asiatic languages. The Somali people are comprised mostly of the Issas, a sub-clan of the Dir. The remaining 5% of the population is made up of Arabs, Ethiopians and Europeans, most of whom are Italian and French.
