Is the Eritrean government corruption free ?
How can one check for corruption to a government that is allergic to independent auditing ? The government is very very secretive. Hence, whether Isayas is corruption free, can not be tested. I know he is an excellent actor who could have earned millions as an actor in Hollywood. Just check the way he carries himself in Addis vs. Asmara. Actually, there was a 600 million dollars account in a Swiss Bank under a 24 year old Eritrean man who resided in Asmara. The Eritrean government attributed that account to a Derg Official who lived in Asmara back in the 70's. That may well be true, since the story stopped right there. Once in a while, some magazines publish African Dictators worth, and Isayas comes into the picture with 90 million or so. But, those stories are unreliable. However, arguing for Isayas to be corruption free is null an void. It can not be verified. There is no independent press in Eritrea. Independent governmental auditing you say ?
That is unheard of. That only comes out after the government is gone for good. No one accused of Sadam, Mussolini or Hitler of corruption. Those guys were psychopath, obsessed with power. Seseko of former Zaire was a billionaire back in the 70's. BTW, the natural wealth of Zaire exceedes the cumultive natural wealth of Western Europe. The black man is nothing but a guerilla who can talk, and walk straight.
BTW, Eritrea is dirt poor. Hence checking for corruption is not a priority as much as productive efficiency. I don't even care if there exists corruption as long as competency for developing the country exists.

Re: Is the Eritrean government corruption free ?
Zemen,
Actually, I am not even concerned about corruption. But, when someone comes over here and tell us how Isayas is corruption free, I am flabbergasted. in an overly secretive government without transparency, making those claims is bone headed. Eritrea is dirty poor. I am not concerned with corruption, what gets me is the absence of significant development in the span of thirty years.

Re: Is the Eritrean government corruption free ?
It is kind of unfair to be flabbergasted by the lack of transparency or development. The country was in a war cloud, sanction and the exoduses of Eritrean youth. Not to mention the evil plan of TPLF to destroy Eritrea. Be fair!!!!Blueshift wrote: ↑16 Jul 2021, 13:19Zemen,
