Why Do Agames Keep Blundering? They Never Seem to Have Heard the Saying "Quit While You Are Ahead"

Agames missed so many opportunities that one wonders at what it is that makes them keep blundering. I mean why pick a fight against Eritrea, for example. Why pick a serious fight against Amharas? Why did they never treat other minorities in Ethiopia with respect and dignity? For 27 years, they mistreated Ethiopians and burned all their bridges. When they were finally kicked out of power and Abiy offered them very generous terms of forgive and forget, instead of quitting while they were ahead, they took the opposite stand and attempted to destabilize Ethiopia. Instead of remaining as an influential member PP, they decided not only leave, but started to fight against Abiy. When the election was postponed, they could have done what everyone else did and accepted the decision. But they chose the opposite and defied the federal government. And then, the biggest blunder, they started war by committing an act so heinous even Abiy, the reluctant warrior, could not tolerate. For 8 months they were whipped and then Abiy decided to cease-fire unilaterally. Instead of accepting his decision as an opportunity, they totally misread the situation and became more belligerent.

Now they are in a fix. Ethiopia seems to have had enough and is now not going to accept any external interference. The decision has been taken to wipe out the remnants of the TPLF thugs. By deploying thousands of under-age kids, the TPLF thugs have crossed a line which even their Western allies cannot condone.

So the question is: Why do Agames never learn from their past mistakes? Why do they keep blundering?
