Eritrean Footballers Arrived in Bahir Dar
EP: The two sibling nations, Ethiopia vs Eritrea, is the highlight of the championship.
14 July 2021 - (EP)Eritrean U-23 national football team greeted with rapturous applause when they arrived in Bahir Dar, the capital of Amhara region, to participate in the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).
The team was welcomed by the city mayor and the Ethiopian Football Federation.
The regional CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup 2021 will take centre stage in Bahir Dar from July 18-31st.
Hosts Ethiopia will face Burundi and Eritrea in Pool B, while Djibouti, South Sudan and Kenya battle in Pool C.
Uganda will face DR Congo in the opening match, while Ethiopia faces Eritrea in a Pool B match on the same day.
