Talk the Talk , Walk the Walk

One Great Article from FB on the current situation.

The worsening situation in Ethiopia is the result of the lack of a prudent leadership.

1. Premature celebration of "mission accomplished"; heightening public sense of triumph by presenting false or exaggerated results, by the PM and his Generals.
2. Lack of commitment, resolve and stamina to stay focused.
3. Trying to beat a vicious enemy while at the same time seeking to appease the caretakers of that enemy. Who is calling the shots, is it the Ethiopian PM or the State Department of the USA?
4. Appointing individuals of dubious characters to run the war-ravaged region of Tigray. It was like "junta out, junta in" thing.
5. Abandoning individuals and communities for the hungry hyenas. Reports indicate that the junta is summarily executing those who it labeled traitors.
6. Mismanaging media and diplomatic components of the war.

The current situation shows PM Abiy Ahmed's weakness more than it shows TPLF's strength, both on military and diplomatic fronts.
This is damaging for the PM government. It will cause it to lose credibility. Who is going to trust the government if it is going to abandon communities haphazardly.

The Amhara region seems to have read the above facts correctly. Bracing for an all-out assault by the TPLF, the Amara region declared public mobilization to defend its territory.
And yet, the PM has to show determination. His latest strongly-worded statement will be just that, a strongly-worded bluff, unless he follows it quickly with action.

The junta is strengthening its negotiating position, and Dr. Abiy Ahmed will have to make a quick decision: is he prepared to negotiate with the junta that he recently labeled as a terrorist group, or he is going to solve the situation militarily? Either ways will need a quick response.

If not, he is going lose public trust and support. Unless decisive action is taken, Ethiopia is risking disintegration. The PM needs to show leadership worthy of the weight the current situation poses. His indecisive and sometimes wobbling positions appear to be costing him public support and emboldening the junta and its backers.

Leadership requires you to be prepared to take tough actions. Eloquent speeches alone do not always bring in pleasant result.

Sabur,

Great to hear from you. BTW both Abbiy and TPLF lie and lie. Abbiy was never ready for the war. He relied to much on Isayas. The West got fed up with Isayas, hence put Abbiy under tremendous pressure. The Weyanes have nothing to lose. For agames, the war is a feasting at agame verison of discotheque.  Hence, the destruction of Ethiopia as a state continues. The amharas are under pressure. If Abbiy can manage the parliament to declare the contested area independent he may be atleast sooth the West. For TPLF, the contested area is a means of survival. Hence, war continues. TPLF is fighting a guerrilla warfare. It fights at its own convenience. Hence, it will have its own way, one way or another. That is bad news for Abbiy. Do what Malasia did to Singapore. Kick Tigray out of the Union. Then fight conventional war over the contested areas.

Blueshift:

Nice to hear from you too.

Aby led Ethiopian Army gave oxygen to the dying TPLF Army. After the Eritrean Forces decimated TPLF army, the remaining TPLF
Army should be a snack for the Ethiopian Army to finish off the TPLF remnants.

Aby, not so seasoned that he is in Military and Politics, celebrated early and wanted to appease TPLF care takers - the US State Department right away.

When you are winning in a war like this, you do not waver until the enemy is totally destroyed.
All the Telephone lines coming form the west should have been muted until the enemy is totally destroyed. No news of the war - total shut down. Nothing would/could have happened to Ethiopia.

But Aby blinked and opened the floodgate by showing off that he is in control talking to the US diplomats very early. He lacked the experience and the knowledge of the American political tactics, covert and overt intimidations,....

This blunder gave the dying woyane a little Oxygen it desperately needed to stay relevant for negotiation.

The question is:

Can Aby negotiate with the TPLF whom he called a Terrorist Organization ?

Welcome Saburay 8) 8) 8)

And a seasoned analysis, sir.

Eritrea's best course is to depose the traitor of Adi Halo (ይሁዳ ተምቤናዊ) and form a care-taker government that leads to reconciliation.
