The poor performance of Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi is already known to the Sudanese. She tries to be laughably more Egyptian than the Egyptians themselves. The Sudanese were embarrassed when she referred to Sameh Shouki, Egyptian foreign minister, as her teacher during her first foreign visit to Egypt after her appointment. Many have called for her resignation due to her inexperience and for damaging the reputation of the Sudan. Her exaggerated animosity towards Ethiopia is not understood by the Sudanese. They do not like her tone. However it is not easy to remove her from her position because she is the daughter of the Great Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi and a member of a very important party in the Sudan.
Because of Maryam Al-Sadiq ... great discontent with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers because of her high expenses and childish performance
Khartoum
She is telling her kids : kids wait for me for the dinner later ...I am going to UAE and will be coming back quickly.
The frequent and frequent travel of Foreign Minister Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi caused indignation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cabinet.
A diplomatic source told Al-Rakuba that despite a cabinet decision to austerity and ban travel of ministers except for the utmost necessity, Maryam Al-Mahdi did not abide by the decision and is still spending resources and time on useless travels.
The source wondered what would Sudan benefit from its travel to Russia and America, and what would it provide other than material and diplomatic ruin.
A former ambassador described Maryam Al-Mahdi's performance in the ministry as the worst in the history of Sudanese diplomacy, saying that it will only increase diplomacy and ruin.
The ambassador noted the minister’s performance in the file of relations with Ethiopia, which he described as childish and lacking rationality, adding, “As for her position on the UAE’s initiative and support for it, it is a scandal and a neglect of sovereignty that requires resignation or dismissal.”
He concluded by saying that Maryam's continuation in the ministry will pay a heavy price for Sudan.
An administrative source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured our newspaper that the minister's expenses in her frequent travels and the consequent expenses of tickets and petty cash for her and her escorts have become a huge financial burden on the ministry, which is not yet able to pay the entitlements of its foreign missions.
