Gonder people are not pure Amhara. They are mixed with Tigray. Tigray is everything for them. The kings in Gonder are half Tigrayan. Fasil, Geladewos are not Amhara. They were from Tigray and Agew in the main.
Eritrea may have used some Gonder Amhara groups to kill Tigrayans. These anti-Tigray Gonder Amhara are not Ethiopians. They are Bantu Africans that migrated to Ethiopia and have adopted Tigray and Amhara culture. The likes of Aster Awoke are proud of their Tigray roots.

If you attempt to cross the Tekeze river, it will be your graveyard and a fiesta for the large crocodiles that killed thousandth of Tigreans in the past.
