I recommend every Ethiopian to read Nemo Semret’s article. It is well-written, objective, and rational. It clearly points out why the interventionists in the Biden administration chose to be hostile with the Abiy’s administration. The article mentioned it is not one factor, but several, and it stressed the main reason is to support Al Sissy of Egypt. It is not possible to tame an Egypt ruled by Moslem brotherhood, or a civilian, democratically elected Egyptian government. But it is possible to tame a military dictator like Al Sissy, who remains friend with Saudi Arabia and other US friendly Arab countries while remaining hostile to Iran.
Yes, Al Sissy is their boy.
But the article concludes with a heart warming prediction. The US interventionists might hate Abiy who is not their lackey, but they do not change him to be Sadam, Ghadafi, or Al Bashir because he is not.
