Do you know why the West doesn't want to topple Bashar Al Assad despite fuelling war in Syria?
Simply, because Israel stayed out of the Syrian war, and the border between Israel and Syria has been quiet since the 1973 Arab–Israeli War, also known as, the Yom Kippur War, Ramadan War, or October War, and from Israeli perspective, such a long-lived stability is preferable to the risk of radical Islamist groups operating along the Israel-Syria frontier.
Israel dictates on who is to be toppled in the Middle East - not the West!

Somaliman,
What you have stated is a copy of the propaganda of anti-Syrian forces and Islamists in the Arab world. Assad stayed in power with the heroic sacrifice of the Syrian Arab Army and his allies ( Iran and Hizbullah) and weapons and close air support from the Russians.
Israel has bombed Syrian territory many times since the inception of the Western aggression on Syria. It has also supplied extremist groups fighting in Syria with weapons produced in Israel.
You have got here wounded fighters of Jabhat al-nusra ( Islamists ) getting treated in Israeli hospital.
If the Islamists ( local and international ) first supported by Saudi Arabia on behalf of the West and then Qatar were to take control of Syria they would have promised not to attack Israel.
For Israel either weakening the government in Syria or toppling it is considered satisfactory.

The question I've asked above is not about who or what keeps him in power, but why the West doesn't bother much in toppling him!
Unlike Iran, and Iraq in the past, Israel doesn't consider the Syrian army as a military threat to it anymore. All it would like to see is the 'Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) presence removed entirely from Syria.

They have tried all they could and failed. They poured a lot of money and men ( brilliant suicidal fighters ) from all over the Arab and Islamic world. Now the Americans are there to steal oil. That is all.

Without the Russian support, real support, Assad wouldn't have survived. I have Syrian friends and I have followed the development of the savage war on Syria and valiant resistance of the Syrian people from the first day. I found the analysis of Mr Nasser Qandil on Syria very helpful, video and written words.
This is Mr Nasser Qandil:
His latest video on Palestine and Iranian nuclear ....

It's very unfortunate that Syria is engulfed in a wave of a never-ending war and fighting.
Syria welcomed Somali refugees with arms wide open, providing them with various facilities, including free education and health. Syrians are nice people.
