Ethiopia didn't move out, it wanted to avoid a fatigue of war over time

This is a very keen strategy, be it in a sport, be it in military, be it in productivity or any kind of human endeavor.
You should save your energy for the time it matters the most and you do that by sparing the waste, where it is not decisive.
If Ethiopia keeps fighting the worthless enemy the gain is much lower than what it costs the country, be it in human lives or material resources, psychological readiness of the public, which is key in a war situation.
If Ethiopia keeps fighting an enemy hiding behind the skirts of the women population and still be able to incur some level of loses, that alone will sum up to a significant amount over time. So, it is crucial to assess the gains and loses of such an engagement, else it would be የ ሞኝ ጥል፣ እንድሁ በከንቱ ብዙ ጉልበት ማበካን።
So, you will beat where it matters resolutely. TPLF's ecstacy is purly out of its sheer ignorance of the reality on the ground.
A small force packed between different forces that will not let it breathe for a given duration of time, it needs unendless supply of the resources needed to wage a war. Let alone TPLF even Ethiopia, a big country, can't afford such kind of luxury, war fatigue will soon ensue and the people of Tigray will start to ask itself, why should I keep losing my children for uncertain endgame?
No matter what, this question is what will come to the mind of the ordinary Tigray citizen within a very short time. Tigray will start sending its children to abroad, to save them, if it can't stop the war from within.
TPLF is hoping on Oromo to join in and perhaps help overstretching the Ethiopian fighting force, at least that is what I understood from Getachew Reda's interview with a German journalist. The Oromos have already distanced themselves, even the likes of Jawar Mohammed don't like to be seen in association of this ragtag enemy of the people.
So, in short Ethiopia is now in pausing while refilling its energy, not in retreat. Swallow the bitter pill, TPLF.
