In the currrent war, Menelik's policy of divide and conquer is in place for Ethiopia as Eritrea is against Tigray!

Before 1889, what is now called Eritrea was part of Tigray. There was a central somewhere in Agame District and the Enderta are was also active. Menelik signed the Wuchale Treaty in 1889 Italy with Italy gave away the area called now Eritrea. Tigray and other Ethiopians tried to evict Italy from Eritrea with no success. Menelik was happy in Shewa and forget the Northern part of the country.
Tigray and Eritrea have been co-operating but there were clear differences, mainly coming from the Eritrean side, where they would say they are a country and Tigray was part of Ethiopia. It is clear the menelik policy has a negative effect on Tigrigna speaking people.
Now Eritrea is fighting against Tigray on the side of Ethiopia. This no one would have expected. But those who followed the developments in Eritrea should have seen Eritrea planning to attack Tigrayans.
Still, Tigrayans seem to be in confusion about Eritrea. Tigray should clearly leave Eritrea to their fate and see them as enemy . We need to get back our Red Sea, which is our life line, our history, our inheritance. Eritrea has nothing to do with The Red Sea. It belongs to Tigray.
