"Eritrea started withdrawing its forces from Tigray region", Billene Seyoum, spokeswoman for Prime Minister

I understand what you are saying but sooner or later the Ethiopian government must start securing Tigray region and the border with Eritrea. The status quo can't continue forever. I really don't think TPLF will come back strong for the foreseeable future. The Ethiopian government must also find a balance between its relations with Eritrea and the west. The US hates the presence of Eritrean forces to death and fear Eritrean influence in Ethiopia. You can see how the western media always single out specifically Eritrean troops and make them very bad. This is because they hate their presence and think Eritrea is a threat to their interest in the HoA and fear Ethiopia could follow the Eritrean path.euroland wrote: ↑03 Jun 2021, 18:57I hope it is just for show.
I know every Agame in the world is praying for the Eritrean soldiers withdrawal because, they know what Shaebia did to their beloved dead Weyane.
They think if Sheabia withdraws, the remaining terrorists would have a chance to survive and cause havoc on their own Kilil.

We can't afford to lose our relations with the west. That would be suicidal not only for the government but also for the country as a whole. So as TPLF is no more a major threat, I think the Ethiopian government must start securing Tigray and the border with Eritrea. The moment that happens the west will reduce its pressure on Ethiopia significantly because that is their number 1 demand. The government should always work to have good relations with both our neighbors and the west as both are crucial for our future.
As the west sees the presence of Eritrean troops as a major threat to their interest in the HoA, I don't think this is just for show and even if this time it is a show sooner or later the Eritrean troops will withdraw so that Ethiopia can have its relations with the west get restored. There is no other option on this one. The west is very serious on this issue.
