Many potential buyers of these planes should avoid and even reject buying any weapons from the US and switch to the Russian and Chinese high-tech weapons.

The worst is that the US puts a number of end-user restrictions on the use of F-16 and similar weapons, and failing to comply with these, the US will disable the planes from distance, and these costly planes simply become useless high-tech junk sitting idle in hangars.

For instance, with Pakistan's F-16 jets, the following restrictions have been put in place:

1. They are under constant US surveillance. The US knows when they are preparing to take off, giving a US interceptor an insurmountable head start." Spy, Military Ties Aided bin Laden Raid.

2. Their software doesn't allow them to target any plane squawking the right NATO codes (presumably these are encrypted).

3. Their software doesn't allow the use of nuclear weapons. Pakistan is said to have tried to modify this. I have no idea how the plane figures out if a warhead is nuclear or conventional. Pakistan has 130-140 nuclear weapons, can convert F16 to deliver nukes.

4. Finally, the US can starve them for spare parts. This happened in the 90s. When Pakistan has a mini war with India in 1999, their f-16 fleet was practically unusable.

5. And of course, the (trillion dollar) elephant in the room: even the lastest E-block f-16's are a full generation behind US jets like the F-35 or the F-22. So anyone trying to use f-16's against the US will be swatted down like a fly. For more advanced technology, more precautions are taken. For example, the F-35 requires a daily unlock code, and the only export customer who has these codes is the UK. Every other f-35 user could lose access to their planes overnight.

Guess what would have happened, had Ethiopia F-16s and tried to bomb Tigray with these!

No chance, as uncle Sam would be too quick to disable these destructive flying electronic apparatus, and probably leave them disabled at least until the dispute between Ethiopia and Egypt is brought to an end.

What's the point of having a plane the costs $50–60 million per piece plus $22,514.00 of direct operating cost, also known as, the cost-per-flight-hour, which is not under your full control.

It is not a rocket science to figure this out. Who are the three largest countries in Africa? 1. Nigeria, 220 million, Ethiopia 120 million, Egypt 90 million. What is western neo-colonialism doing? break down Nigeria into multiple failed States, trying so hard to break down Ethiopia into failed villages and elevate Egypt as its African water carrier! ..... hence the centrality of Red sea and GERD

Russian airplanes are agile and fast. But, their avionics, on board pales with the likes of F-15 and F-16. forget about F-22's and F-35's. Even countries like Egypt do not get fully equipped and functional on their F-16's. My favorite fighters, give me the twin engines F-15, and off course, F-22.
