For Eritrea, the Red Sea is the most important lifeline as the Great Renaissance Dam is for Ethiopia. Hence, Eritrea doesn't allow or lease its ports to any nation. Mr. Horus, you can dream of Ethiopian Naval Base being Established in Eritrea by posting the fake & hallucinating youtubers but that will never happen in the land of Eritrea built by the blood & bones of its martyrs.

I really don't understand why the issue of Ethiopian naval force in Eritrea is even brought up to a discussion . It is a distraction pure and simple . The Ethiopian and the Eritrean people do have a good relationship at this time, and both countries are taking the same stance both against weyanes and Egypt and Sudan . So why put out this kind of nuisance at this critical time. Ethiopia focus has to be neutralizing weyane for good and building its military strength to stand against potential enemies and strengthening the cohesion of the society . Eritrean has demonstrated their loyalty at critical moment in our history . We should return our good will to ward them in practical terms. If Ethiopia became an economic mammoth and militarily power in the region then countries might be willing to accommodate Ethiopian presence as a naval power willingly . While weynes are presenting Ethiopia as a natural enemy of Eritrea to play into weyan hands is very unwise and detrimental to Ethiopia interest. In the future if our good relationship grows , we can discuss how to accommodate each other for the benefit of our two countries. In-mean time ,We still can have a good military relationship with Eritrea, but a naval base in Eritrea -- even if Eritrea is willing is not time to do it. We need to rebuild the fractured relationship first -- then see where that would take us.

You leave everything to one man, surprises surprises. It is not as if Abbiy was hiding his wishes. The point is, suppose Isayas had agreed or already signed for Ethiopia to have a naval base in Eritrea. The US, France, and China have naval bases in Djibouti. So, what is the big deal. The big deal is, he may have leased the ports for instance, say 100 years for little money. Is that agreement valid. No. But, it could lead to another war between Ethiopia and Eritrea. When one man decides the fate of the country, then anything could happen. It is wrong to have a single man in power for over fifty years deciding the fate of the country. Many Eritrean youth have died in war that does not concern them. Where is the responsibility ? Brain dead cadres, no need to respond.
