How did American relation with Ethiopia get to this state of affairs? What happened? Why?
I know that one can write up 15,000 word article of this question. But Horus hates to mince words. Let us look at two important reasons.
The current Ethio- American diplomatic (political) fiasco clearly witnesses the catastrophic failure of American minted ethnic (tribal) experiment in Ethiopia. I call this system an 'ethnocratic system' or a system of rule by ethnicity.
In a democracy, there is a rule of law. In autocracy and authoritarianism, there is a rule of person (rule by person). In an ethnocracy, there a rule by the tribe. It is this voodoo ideology that was experimented on Ethiopia and collapsed like a house of cards.
American want to talk about such stupid concepts like a failed state, etc. There is no failed state in Ethiopia, there a failed political ideology and theory. What has failed and failed tragically is the America-TPLF concocted Ethiopian ethnic federation, ethnic kllilism, ethnic regime, ethnic constitution and ethnic everything.
what does America want right now?
America want to perpetuate the hated, the failed, the divisive, the violent, destructive, the corrupt, the unfair, unjust, anti-democratic tribal system known 1001 fancy names. This is again what America working day night as if Ethiopia is an America state - the reestablishment of another tribal chaos modeled after the defunct TPLF-EPRDF.
America is shamefully advocating for TPLF & OLF - the two arch enemies of Ethiopia. May be USA want to create another fake state out of Tigre and Welega as first step of dismantling our glorious Ethiopia. We need to put a stop on it just as we did in 1896.
Ethiopia saved Africa from colonial take over and European settlement in 1896. We will free present day west-dependent puppet Africa from its modern day slavery.
That has always been our manifest destiny - to lead the freedom and development of the black race!

If Abiy Ahmed ever wants to remain in power, he needs to start the process of dismantling the failed Ethiopian ethnic state. The Ethiopia state has not failed. The America manufactured ethnic state is what has failed and failing completely.

Can America defeat China? No! Can America defeat Russia? No ! What America is doing is a culture coming right out of slavery. For USA, Ethiopia is a slave of China or Russia (they did it with Mengistu) and they want this Africa slave to belong to them. What do they do?
They tell us that if we don't abandon our current master China or Russia and kneel down to their command, they will do everything to punish us and destroy us as a nation.
