He was touring the world and lobbying the power corridors to get such restrictions imposed on Qeerroo and defending Fano before he was sent to where he duly belongs to.

I Think you are not reading the caveat "responsible for, or complicit in, undermining resolution of the crisis in Tigray" which means they have to undermine the resolution or be complicit in undermining the resolution to be affected by the restriction.. Dr Tedros would not undermine the resolution or be complicit in undermining the resolution so you would not expect him to be affected by the ban as he wants the resolution to be implemented fully.

I Think you are not reading the caveat "responsible for, or complicit in, undermining resolution of the crisis in Tigray" which means they have to undermine the resolution or be complicit in undermining the resolution to be affected by the restriction.. Dr Tedros would not undermine the resolution or be complicit in undermining the resolution so you would not expect him to be affected by the ban as he wants the resolution to be implemented fully.

But what about those who are enabling the same entity (TPLF and its remnants) from within the USA itself, by collecting money and transferring it to the entity by irregular means and defending it publicly in rallies and even from a platform that is supposed to be free of politics, like Dr. Tedros Adnahom was doing recently?

If this restriction is to be imposed and those elements are not affected by it, then it remains to be a high degree of hypocrisy, nothing else.

Not necessarily, in my modest understanding, and here is why:

What does America want from Ethiopia that it has lost with the capitulation of TPLF? It is simply a divided Ethiopia that will not going to concentrate itself on its strategic growth path. If Ethiopia takes off on the growth path in Africa then chances are very high that it takes many more African countries with it. This is a challenge for the neucolonialists of the 21st century.

If the west may find an alternative tool to achieve the same goal, then there is no need for it to utilize its military might, which it holds as the last option in all of its geopolitics. If it opts for the deployment of its military might, then it is also not clear for how long it will be prepared to keep it there. The same scenario they have recently experienced in Afghanistan is what they would try much to avoid.

It can still try to use other elements in the Ethiopia political landscape or even other neighboring countries to increase an headache of the government in Ethiopia that is refusing to bow down to their unmistakable demand. The message is clear that they are the masters and countries like Ethiopia are just there to serve the needs of the masters.

If you think that America's goal is something different, then explain yourself. The goal justifies the means, as always.
