US wins in Ethiopia

The title is misleading as usual. It is not US that is winning, rather it is Ethiopia, which is winning by opening itself to new technology and its fruition.

Ethiopia is moving forward while the የሀሜት ነጋዴዎች are progressing themselves to የሃሰት ነገዴዎች.

This is commerce as far as I understand it, but for you it could be also ደረቅ ጡጦ depending on your stand and value.
I read the content and try to evaluate the title, for you the job is done by using some kind of a catchy title.

But, I have a question?
The news yesterday said that Kenya based Vodafone and South Africa based MTN formed a partnership called Global Partnership for Ethiopia. My understanding was that we had forced US & China form the joint venture.
Now this article simply says the US's IDFC backed Vodafone won the deal? what is the accurate story. Yes, last year US created International Development Finance Corporation to directly challenge and compete against its Chinese counter-part.
Controlling telecom is controlling the brain center of a nation. Both China and US put chips in telecom devices in order to spy on their clients. So, for Ethiopia, the choice is the better of two evils- one master or two masters, one lender or two lenders? Two is better than one.
China is already the zillion pound elephant in our room and to balance it is the 2nd good choice is to have US in the confrontation. We have been predicting intense US/China contention in the Horn and in Africa and this is what that is >>>>>
Now, I am sure there are other geopolitical factors driving this deal. For Ethiopia, this is the only way she can join the 5G or other advanced and efficient information technology and scientific world. Yes, there are great risks but a nation that is building a dam to produce 65 mw of electricity without a functioning cutting telecom is meaningless. US/EU economic entanglement with Ethiopia will also soften their hostility toward Ethiopian ambitions and long term objectives.
Why do nation fight - it is all about power and money! Why do nations rise and fall? it is all because of power and money!
If Ethiopia desires to become a nation of power and consequence, she has to enter that war zone where you sometimes win and sometimes lose. As an Ethiopian nationalist, I wish Ethiopia owns and develops Telecom. That is not the case because Ethiopia is still a tribal society whose 90% of its intelligence and resources are wasted and dissipated on tribal chaos and confusion.
Ethiopians have no time for science and technology! That won't happen until they sort out their identity crises! In the mean time the Chinese and American will do the technology! It is that simple, it is that sad!

Horus,
you claimed at one point in the past that youር field of study is anthropology and I remember telling you that you could be more productive if you pursue your engagement in the field you have better idea in.
Technology is not that someone with ለብ ለብ reading or something similar can make a comment that makes sense to others.
I am already pretty sure that you don't understand what 5G stands for just by reading your comment like the following:

የሀሜት ነጋዴዉ,
I am sure I have read where you once implied that the US is a bully and that you are afraid to stand against it when it is wrong. Do you know what Ethiopia’s ዓጼዎች, including those who led it at par with China, Persia, and Rome when the US didn’t exist as a country and Native Americans lived in it, call someone who is afraid to stand against what one innately believes is wrong? የእንግዴ ልጅ። አባ ገዳዎች also have a word for it. Do you know what some Americans call that kind of person? I have read they call him “our son of a bit$ch.” Which one do you prefer better?“Revelations” wrote: US wins in Ethiopia

I am sure there are some Americans in its good old days who like to hear what they want to hear instead of what is right to hear.
You are not alone in being afraid to stand against what you innately think is wrong. I also remember an American lawyer who read a case and took it once said “nothing will change.” The desperation in his voice as he said it is unforgettable. I do not know if Galileo had a lawyer or if his lawyer would say the same.
