The real Al-Aqsa mosque was 25 kilometer from Medina in the city of Bu3rana in Saudi Arabia.

The foundation of the mosque was established by umar ibn khatab in the 7th century 3rd caliph of Islam . In later decades.. Ibn marwan later finished the mosque and the dome of the rock under his reign. That's how it is. Al aqsa is the furtherst mosque according to islam and the hadith mentioned. So it could never be near Medina. Perhaps that mosque just has the same name. How ever Al aqsa is in Al quds Jerusalem. House of all prophers
