What you won't find covered in US/UK media, today. A pair of notorious Russian pranksters, posing as leading Belarusian opposition figures, have duped @NEDemocracy into revealing the extent of US involvement in Eastern European political movements.

The officials, funded by the US Congress, admitted they coordinate efforts with prominent political activists in a range of countries, including Russia. They believed they were talking to Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, figurehead of Belarus’ opposition movement, & one of her advisors.
They also claimed credit for playing a role in igniting the colossal street protests that rocked Belarus, after last year's disputed election. This will add fuel to Lukashenko’s previous claims, that the widespread domestic opposition to his government is being stoked from abroad.
On Russia, the US officials said they were in touch with Leonid Volkov, the right hand man of jailed opposition figure Alexey Navalny, adding
we've a very ample program in Russia
which
goes even down to the grassroots outside of Moscow. It is very deep and it is very broad.
The attached article is an interesting read. Especially, given the US has subjected Moscow to harsh sanctions for allegedly "meddling" in America's elections & internal politics. Not to mention all the hysteria around the 2016 contest, between Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton.
To be fair, a day later, Britain's @thetimes has broken ranks and covered the story, but not as a main headline, of course.
