Have any Er-brothers or sisters experienced cancellation of their flights through Ethiopian Airlines? We booked our flight to go back home to Eri-Shikor this summer with Ethiopian Airlines but for some reason, they cancelled/suspended their flights to Asmara. When we contacted the agent to get the refund and probably book a different airline, the Ethiopian Airlines said there would be cancellation fee even though Ethiopian Airline themselves cancelled our flight? I thought this is weird. Anyone who has the same experience ?

The last thing I heard about Ethiopian flights to Asmara was not to start until the middle of June, while some other airlines like Fly Dubay are already flying and Turkish to do the same beginning May 25th. However, their website does not show any flights to Asmara. My guess is probably because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is expereince that is speaking in this case, dear Temt or what ever you call yourself. Before the border conflict started in 1998, tigrain employees at the Ethiopian airport who stared to act weird against Eritrean passengers before hell broke out.

No question about it. They should refund. But, as you know, the Ethiopian government has a lot of issues that it probably needs to sort out. My guess is they will refund the money sooner or later. I hope you can make the flight back home in a timely manner. Have a wonderful Independence festivities. I would be lying if I didn't tell you that "I am jealous"!
